Available Visa Types for Taiwan Residents

Taiwan residents have access to the Working Holiday Visa, the EU Blue Card, and the Opportunity Card. Applicants must obtain a Long-Stay (D) Visa from the German Institute Taipei before departing for Germany.

Main Work Routes

EU Blue Card

For highly qualified workers with a degree recognized in Germany and a job offer from a German employer meeting salary requirements.

Opportunity Card

The points-based "Chancenkarte". Allows you to search for a job in Germany for up to 1 year while working part-time.

Working Holiday

Allows Taiwan youth (18-30) to work and travel for 1 year. Annual quota: 500 places. Requires proof of â‚¬4,000+ funds.

Recognized Degree (Anabin/ZAB verification)

Concrete Employment Offer (if applicable)

Language proof (German or English B2 for Opportunity Card)

Visa Application in Taipei

Submit your application for a National (D) Visa at the German Institute Taipei. Personal interview required.

Enter & Anmeldung

Enter Germany and register your address (Anmeldung) at the local Citizens' Office (BÃ¼rgeramt) within 2 weeks.

Residence Permit Issue

Convert your entry visa into a long-term residence permit at the local Immigration Office (AuslÃ¤nderbehÃ¶rde).

Service Note
