Work & Residency Pathways for Taiwan Residents
Information based on current research for Taiwan residents wishing to live and work in the Republic of Austria.
Taiwan residents have access to the Working Holiday Visa, the Red-White-Red Card, and the EU Blue Card. Austria offers special opportunities for youth mobility through a reciprocal quota system.
Points-based permit for skilled professionals. Requires a binding job offer. Points are awarded for age, education, and language skills.
Allows Taiwan youth (18-30) to work and travel in Austria for up to 1 year. Annual quota: 100 places.
For highly qualified workers with a recognized degree and a salary offer meeting the high-income threshold (approx. €66,000+).
Submit your application at the Austrian Office Taipei (AOT).
Your application is forwarded to Austria for evaluation by the AMS (Public Employment Service).
Receive a Visa D for entry into Austria once the RWR card is provisionally approved.
Collect your RWR residence permit from the local authority in Austria after arrival and registration.
