New Zealanders can apply for the General Employment Policy (GEP), the Top Talent Pass Scheme (TTPS), and the Working Holiday Scheme. Hong Kong offers vibrant opportunities for Kiwis looking for international business exposure.
Top Talent Pass Scheme. For earners with HK$2.5M+ annual income or graduates from the world's top 100 colleges. Enter HK first and find a job later (within 2 years).
General Employment Policy. For professionals with specialized skills. Requires a local HK employer to sponsor your residency.
Allows New Zealanders (18-30) to work and travel for 1 year. Annual quota: 400 places. Requires proof of HK$20,000+ in savings.
Visit the HK Immigration Department (ImmD) website and start your application online.
Permits usually take about 4-6 weeks to process. Keep an eye on your email for status updates.
Once approved, pay the fee online and print out your electronic visa/permit notification slip.
Enter HK using the printed e-visa. Apply for your mandatory HKID card within 30 days if your stay >180 days.
