Hong Kong citizens can apply for the BN(O) Visa (if eligible), the Youth Mobility Scheme (requires a ballot selection), or the Skilled Worker Visa. The Youth Mobility Scheme is for those aged 18-30.
For BNO status holders. Stay for 2.5 or 5 years. Full work rights. Pathway to citizenship. No age limit.
For HKSAR passport holders aged 18-30. Requires successful selection via the ballot system held twice a year (February and July). Max 2-year stay.
Standard professional route for those with a job offer from a licensed UK employer and a CoS.
Book a test at a UKVI-approved clinic in HK. You must have the result before you apply for the visa.
Submit your application on GOV.UK. Most HK residents can use the app to verify their identity digitally.
Pay the relevant visa fee and the IHS (£1,035/year for BN(O), £776/year for YMS).
Once approved, BNO visa holders get a digital status. YMS applicants might get a vignette sticker to collect a BRP in the UK.
