Hong Kong citizens can apply for various visas including the TSS (Subclass 482), Working Holiday (Subclass 417), and Short Stay Specialist (Subclass 400). Note that there are specific Australia-Hong Kong pathways that allow for extended stays.
Temporary Skill Shortage visa. HK citizens can benefit from specific extended stay arrangements under this subclass.
Subclass 417. Allows young HK citizens to work and travel in Australia for up to one year (extensions possible).
Subclass 400. For undertaking short-term, highly specialized work in Australia.

If required, your Australian employer lodges sponsorship and nomination details online.
Submit your application online via ImmiAccount. Attend a VAC in Hong Kong for biometrics if requested.
The visa is granted electronically after health/character checks. Processing can take 1-4 months.
