Australian citizens have access to the Working Holiday Visa, the Red-White-Red (RWR) Card, and the EU Blue Card. The RWR Card is a points-based system for skilled immigrants.
The primary route for skilled workers. Points-based (Age, Education, Experience, Language). Requires a binding job offer with a minimum salary.
Allows Australians (18-30) to work and travel for up to 1 year. Popular for short-term and seasonal employment.
For "Very Highly Qualified Workers" to search for a job in Austria for 6 months. Requires high points (70/100).
Apply for the RWR Card at the Austrian Embassy in Canberra or a Consulate in Australia.
Your points and job offer are verified by the Public Employment Service (AMS) in Austria.
Receive a Visa D for entry if you are not already in Austria under a visa-free scheme.
Enter Austria and collect your RWR residence permit from the local authority (Magistrat or Bezirkshauptmannschaft).
